Capitola Police Department’s V.I.P.S. Volunteers In Police Service
Capitola’s Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) help the Capitola Police perform their mission by providing non-law enforcement services throughout Capitola and beyond, thus freeing up the sworn officers for their more pressing duties.
The VIPS are committed to patrolling each of the neighborhoods in Capitola at least once each week to help keep our streets and neighborhoods safe and free from abandoned vehicles, as well as checking on homes at the request of owners/renters who are out of town, working, or who have called the Capitola Police Department with non-law enforcement concerns about their neighborhood.
They also help the Capitola Police in providing services for the elderly, disabled, shut-ins and residents who are concerned about family members or friends who wander and may become lost. If you have family or friends who live in Capitola and would like the VIPS to periodically check in with them, please contact the Capitola Police Department for assistance
WE CAN PROVIDE HELP WITH:
